Animal testing should be banned in cosmetic industry.

Animal testing should be banned, especially in the cosmetic industry. There are quite a few reasons to support this idea but I’d like to address 3 of them here. First, it is inhumane and cruel. Often, animals for testing are locked in small cages in the lab with no freedom to move around and what they receive is thousands times of unwanted injection, inhalation and forced feeding. For example, rabbits, one of the most commonly-used animals for testing, are forcefully applied an unidentified chemicals or substances into or onto their eyes with their eyelids fixed open so as to prevent them from blinking. They have to keep their eyes open for tens of hours to be injected with unsafe substances for the purpose of developing safe mascara for women, which by the way cannot be seen as a necessity in human lives. What is worse, they are sometimes deprived of food, water or sleep. As such these lab animals are vulnerable to mistreatment and many of them die during the process. Humans

I would prefer to teach... & Culture based differences...

Q. If you were a teacher, who do you prefer to teach, boys or girls? Why? A. I have taught English to elementary school students and middle school students for a couple of years and I would say boys are more convenient to teach. It is easy to communicate with boys because they don't beat around the bush. They say what they want directly and their feelings are more noticeable than girls. However, with girls, communicating with them is more fun. As female, we have a lot in common to talk about, and can understand and share our feelings more easily than boys. But what is tricky is that if there is anything that girls don't like or when they are feeling low, it is demanding to get them engaged into learning again and the whole atmosphere of the class becomes awkward. Girls tend to be more emotionally sensitive and sometimes it's hard to give a critical feedback because they accept it rather emotionally than rationally, especially those girls in puberty. Also, girls like to c

The most stressful period in my life :-(

The most stressful period in my life was when I broke up with my first boyfriend. Well, I was dumped by him to be exact... Never had I thought that would happen in my life so it was shocking and catatrophic experience for me at that time. I didn't think he and I would break up nor he would be the one who would break our relationship. After ending with him, I couldn't eat, sleep or work. The only thing I did was crying. I thought I would die of dehydration if I kept crying like that! At the same time, I found it interesting that extreme stress was making me unable to eat any food. Eating is one of the most important parts of my life -of course it is to every human being- in terms of relieving my stress and cheering up my mood, but as I was unable to swallow anything, I was unable to release my stress and my health was getting poorer, both mentally and physically. It was a vicious circle. Extreme sorrow caused stress, stress prevented me from eating, no proper food weakened my

# 1 video reflection

<1st video reflection> I'm getting used to my voice recorded through devices but still awkward looking myself in a video.. I will probably get used to it too but at the same time I think I need to find a way to look better in video. Watching myself talking, first things I noticed were grammatical errors. I can't help it cause I taught English grammar to students for a couple of years and I get to focus on grammatical aspect. And then I had some moment of stammering. I think it's a natural mistake in this stage so I hope it gets better! Also, a little moment of hesitation but not bad for a first try I think! And eye-contact problem.. It's still awkward to be in front of a camera so as I become accustomed to being videotaped, it will get better hopefully! Not bad for the first time! I didn't murmur nor stop between sentences. I'm satisfied 😊

British-owned cruise ship wrecks one of Indonesia’s best coral reefs

British-owned cruise ship wrecks one of Indonesia’s best coral reefs https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/mar/10/british-owned-cruise-ship-wrecks-one-of-indonesias-best-coral-reefs ★ It came as big shock to me cause I had read an article about coral bleaching while doing my assignment and it is another sad story of coral reefs being damaged by human activity. In Australia, Great Barrier Reef is in danger because coral bleaching, which causes coral reefs lose its color and starve to death, is  serious. If coral reefs are gone and the following generations can't enjoy it, it would be such a sad and shameful thing.
